1月26日晚，登山届的一场盛会--第16届金冰镐奖在法国东部阿尔卑斯山区的格勒诺布尔市正式揭晓。斯洛文尼亚队的Marko Prezelj和Boris Lorencic因成功开辟卓木拉日峰西北侧柱状山体路线而获得该项桂冠。新路线的开辟是他们在5天紧张并恶劣的环境内以阿尔卑斯攀登方式完成的。卓木拉日峰，众所周知为干城章嘉峰的新娘，坐落在不丹和中国西藏的交界处。Marko Prezelj和Boris Lorencic在共同接过金冰镐时脸上洋溢着幸福的笑容。
On 26 January, the 16th Piolet d’Or was awarded in Grenoble, French Alps. Winners Marko Prezelj and Boris Lorencic displayed broad smiles at receiving the Golden Ice Axe in honor of the new route they opened on the Tibetan Chomolhari.

卓木拉日（Chomolhari），意为“干城章嘉的新娘”，不丹第二高峰，坐落在不丹和中国西藏交界处，海拔7350米。 
Marko Prezelj和Boris Lorencic开辟西北侧柱状山体路线，长2000米，最高难度M6+，往返6天（4天上攀，2天下撤）。和Prezelj以往的风格相同，这又是一次严谨的阿式攀登。 
Prezelj全程领攀，free了所有难点，由于路线暴露，两人沿途饱受强风的摧残。斯洛文尼亚人总结这条路线和斯潘蒂克峰（Spantik，7027米）的“金色支柱”路线（ABO：VI、5.11d、 A3，2300米）非常相似，同样都是对技术要求很高的混合路线，缺乏稳定的天气，路线不清晰，而且很难找到合适的露营地点。Prezelj特别强调：“成功的关键更在于后勤安排和攀登策略的选择，而不仅仅是能完成一些困难的动作。” 
同一时间段，另一组斯洛文尼亚人开辟了北壁冰雪槽路线，队员包括Rok Blagus、Tine Cuder、 Matej Kladnik和Samo Krmelj四人。路线长1900米，靠近北壁的左侧，往返大本营共用时4天，10月14日登顶。两支队伍各自沿新路线登顶后均选择原路下撤。部分队员还攀登了卓木拉日东边海拔6706米的Jangmo Gopsha。
