Mot planned to get to Jingzhou City yesterday , but failed . He was tired and got his ass ache due to the bumpy road near Hubei . After a night' s sleep , he was refreshed . He didn't need to get up very early since he had plenty of time for the last day , so after breakfast he set out at 7: 20 . First he rode to a dock to catch the ferry to cross the Yangtze River because the bridge is only for motor vehicles . Jingzhou is situated in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River , so the river isn't very wide . It only took about ten minutes to cross it . When the ferry boat weighed anchor , sailed smoothly into the middle of Yangtze River . The air wasn't clear , the mist on the water surface made Mot thinking of a story called " to borrow arrows with thatched boats " a thound years ago in the Three Kingdom period . Then he rode bicycle on the Jingzhou Dike for about 15 kilometers . The Dike was built very high and stable to defending floods . There are lots of big trees on the bank with grass on both sides . It was a pity that the weather wasn't fine that day , the haze made him couldn't see very far . There are many factories and piers along the Dike , lots of cars drove on it . The scenery wasn't very impressive . Somehow Mot didn't feel very good . He was thinking about Guanyu all the time who was one of the five great generals of the Shu Kingdom . He was imagining that when the general was free whether he would ride a horse to the River bank or go to swim in it . |
11月22 上午骑游荆州古城,关羽大意失荆州,人生千万别大意啊!可Mot 又站在半山腰等解放军了[捂脸] Jingzhou is an ancient city with a history of over five thounds years . Mot chose it as his last stop , not only for it boasts a high speed railway station , but also its epic history especially the stories of Guanyu that attracted him so much . After visited Jingzhou Dike , he went to the Ancient City of Jingzhou to see the ancient city wall . It is one of the few well preserved ancient walls in China . The earliest wall was built thousands years ago but was damaged by wars , rebuilt several times , but destroyed again , the present wall was rebuilt in the early Qing Dynasty about 350 years ago . It has become a very famous tourists spot nowadays . From the bird' s eye view , the ancient city looks like a rectangle . Its East to West is much wider than South to North . The exterior barricade is a moat , the brick wall is in the middle and the interior part is clay wall . The middle brick wall is about 9 meters high , 10 meters thick , and a perimeter of 10. 5 kilometers with fortifications on the wall . There are several layers of thick stone slabs as its foundation , upon which countless specialized made bricks were laid together by lime and glutinous rice paste formed an almost vertical brick wall , behind it where huge amount of clay was rammed , and now verdant plants growing on the clay wall . All together , it formed a very strong City Wall . Mot arrived in the Gate of the ancient wall at noon with excitement . He looked at it very carefully , its bricks , stones , characters carved on the wall etc. Then climbed up the wall , he inspected the fortifications tried very hard to find traces of the ancient people , to feel the soldiers using arrows to fight against the incoming enemies through those holes on the wall . The thing amazed him so much is that how ingenious the ancient people designed the city . When standing at the top , Mot saw the First barrier is the moat and bridge , the second is the high wall and gate , even if the enemies broken the first gate , they will find they fall in a place with high walls on all sides . That is a trap called Urn . Only broken the second gate can the enemies enter the inner city where commercial buildings and residential houses were built and common people lived . Mot circled along the inner City Wall . It is a long and very solid wall , he saw many Gates and relic Sites of ancient towers . He was very satisfied . In the end , Mot went to the Jingzhou Museum . |
