Australian triathlete Chris Legh is one of the world's great multi-sport athletes, winning more than 70 triathlons throughout his career. Chris is a two-time Ironman Triathlon champion, winning the 2000 Ironman California and the 2004 Ironman Coeur d'Alene. In 2004 he had a total of 7 half Ironman wins. He has had ten top three Ironman finishes. Chris is also a five-time Australian Triathlon National Champion. He was ranked the #1 long course triathlete in the world in 1999/2000.

2010 Ironman 70.3 Asia-Pacific Championship results: men's race

December 5, 2010- Today was the inaugural running of the Ironman 70.3 Asia-Pacific Championship in Laguna Phuket, Thailand. A deep field of 50 professionals was here to compete for a share of the $75,000 purse and Kona qualifying points.

American Tim O’Donnell took an early lead, completing the 1.2 mile swim in 24:34. Japan’s Hideo Fukui was right behind him with a 24:44 split. New ZEALander Bryan Rhodes was in third place with a 24:48, just ahead of Great Britain’s Paul Ambrose and his 24:50 split.

O’Donnell was first out onto the bike ride and he retained the lead throughout the 56 mile ride. He completed the ride in 2:13:04. Ambrose finished the bike ride in second place after riding a 2:14:32 split. Rhodes retained his third place position by riding a 2:14:32 as well.

O’Donnell went into the 13.1 mile run with a lead of just over two and a half minutes and stayed in front. His 1:19:43 split gave him a winning overall time of 3:59:42. Massimo Cigana battled from 14th after the swim to take second, running a 1:19:11 to give him an overall 4:01:52. Fukui ran a 1:22:08 to earn a trip to the podium with a 4:04:00 overall time.

2010 Ironman 70.3 Augusta results: men's race

September 26, 2010- Augusta, GA is famous for the Masters golf tournament, but that wasn’t the dominant sports EVENT today. The 2010 Ironman 70.3 Augusta was story today. This was the second running of the event, which attracted thousands of participants from all over the world. This race would see some very fast times and a pretty tight finish among the men.

The men’s swim had some very fast times. The first pro out of the Savannah River was Marko Albert of Estonia. Albert swam the 1.2 miles in 18:52. Just behind him was David Kahn from Port Jefferson, NY in 18:53. Philip Graves of Great Britain was out in 18:56 to be third. A total of 13 pros made the swim in under 20 minutes.


By the end of the 56 mile bike ride, Andrew Yoder of Columbia, PA was in the lead.
Yoder, who was in 5th place after the swim, rode a 2:06:13 to move into the lead. Marko’s 2:09:37 split put him in second place. Kahn rode a 2:11:52 that put him in third. Graves had dropped to 10th place by the end of the bike ride.
Many changes happened during the 13.1 mile run. Yoder, Marko and Kahn found themselves getting passed. Maksym Kriat, a Ukrainian now living in Fair Lawn, NJ, had been steadily moving up during the whole race. Kriat, who was 13th at the end of the swim, 4th at the end of the bike, ran a 1:13:20 to win with an overall winning time of 3:46:54. Richie Cunningham of Austin, TX was in a similar position. Cunningham was 7th at the end of the bike ride, but his 1:13:32 run moved him up to take second with a finishing time of 3:47:12. Another Ukrainian, Victor Zyemtsev ran the fastest split of the day, a 1:12:53, to finish just seconds behind Cunningham. Zyemtsev finished with a 3:47:36 to take third.
